Treatment:
NONE; all affected stock should be destroyed. Spray and drain mosquito bedding areas, vaccinate to immunize your heard.
Myxomatosis (Mosquito Disease) is most common on the West Coast, Mexico and South America. The disease is spread by a biting insect, so any and all methods to reduce insect populations such as spraying and draining mosquito beds should be put into the rabbitry management.
Antibiotics will have little or no affect on this disease. However, there is a vaccine to prevent the disease, it is relatively new and rather expense though. And is only available by licensed prescription. The best thing a breeder can do is to screen the rabbitry and other preventative measures.
