Treatment:
NONE: to prevent slipping, check your nest boxes to be sure they have sufficient bedding. In small litters, watch the does diet to avoid rapid excessive weight gain.
Spraddle legs in young rabbits is usually caused by those having a slippery nest box floor, and rapidly developing. In which case the body development is too rapid and the bones, muscles and tendons can't catch up or the tissues are strained from the slipping on the wet nest box floor.
Cases of spraddle legs vary from those bent at 90 degree angles, spreading the rabbit flat on the floor, to only slightly bent causing a rabbit to move in an awkward manner.
Watching your rabbits diet, and making sure your nest boxes have enough nesting material are the main factors in controlling and preventing this condition.
